Peter had been working up to this for some time. The truth was, he'd probably been ready some time ago, but he couldn't help a bit of nerves. After all, if this went wrong, he could end up very messily dead. Or in someplace he really didn't want to be.

He was sure he had it, though. Could practically reach out and feel the welcome of his home, a place he belonged.

He closed his eyes and centered himself for a while, then reached with his magic, and the air in front of him shimmered with a faint green-gold light. He took a deep breath and stepped through.

Peter's going expat. Open post to anybody that wants to see him before he leaves.

comments

Nicephorus woke up this morning in a very confusing place.

Fortunately, there was a note on very fine paper labeled with his name and someone else's, because Peter had gotten in the habit of keeping one on the dresser.

Your name is Nicephorus, well, yes, he knew that, but everybody here calls you Peter. That was different. The square thing here is a phone. It's a device to contact people, and it also has a calendar on it.

There were instructions on how to work the basics of that, what places might have food, and who he could trust where he was. It was all very strange, but it sounded like it would at least be an adventure!

So Nicephorus - no, Peter, right - picked up the phone, put it in his pocket, and headed out.

[Establishy, but open to the roomie or anyone to drop by if they want before he leaves.]

comments

Apparently it was a crime that Peter had never had cake vodka, so he and Kaidan had grabbed a cab at the causeway and taken it to a bar in Baltimore that was likely to have it.

Peter thanked and tipped the cabbie, then waved at the door.
The cold didn't really bother Peter, and the TV had somehow turned into a fireplace, but he had belatedly realized it probably did bother some people, so he had gone around to every floor of the building, tacking up signs and <s>hadnwavily</s> knocking on doors to see if people needed a warm place.

He couldn't fix everybody's apartment, but he could definitely magic up warm air in his own. And light. And there were chips left over from movie nights?

Anyway, the apartment was open for guests!

[Open post as it says!]

comments

There had been a bat in the apartment since Wednesday. At the moment, it was hanging from the doorframe to Peter's room.

And then Peter was upside-down in the doorway, tumbling to the ground before he could adjust to it, and yelling briefly, startled.

He sat there for a moment blinking, readjusting his brain to more sentient standards.

Well, that had happened.

[Post open to the roomie or anyone who wants to call, text, or drop by.]

comments
