Peter's apartment, Saturday night

So, Kanan was back from wherever, and had a friend with him. Since he was one of Peter's few friends on the island, another movie night sounded good. Beer and pretzels were there already, and he'd ordered a pizza.

Did they really want to watch a movie about wars, though? Surely there was something else that wasn't animated.

Hey, Kanan was fine with pretty much anything playing on the television. He wasn't really here for the movie, anyway, so much as the distraction. Not that Hera wasn't a fine distraction all on her own. Uh. Not like that. He just needed to get out of the apartment and step back into whatever his life was these days. Moping over Okadiah or Lal wasn't really going to do anybody any good.

"You'll like Peter," he assured Hera as he knocked at his door. "He's got a good head on his shoulders, you know?"

Only almost killed him that one time!

"Not so sure that's a ringing endorsement coming from you," Hera teased him.

Peter stopped fussing with Netflix and went to open the door. "Hey, Kanan." He smiled. "And...um."

Sorry, Hera. You were cuter and a lot greener than he'd been expecting, and he'd momentarily forgotten if Kanan had told him your name.

"Hera," Kanan supplied. "Peter, this is Hera. Captain of the Ghost, and probably the first pilot I've ever seen who can actually out-fly me."

Maybe not the first. But Kanan was prone to a brag every now and again.

Peter laughed. "Since I haven't seen you fly, that doesn't mean much, but I'll take it she's good." He held out his hand to Hera. "Hi. Come on in."

"Hi." Hera shook his hand, amused, and came in. "Oh, you've got furniture. Kanan, take notes," she said, grinning at him.

John was coming back from the liquor store when heard noise and smelled pizza.

"Oi, we having a party up in here?" he asked, sticking his head in open door. "Or just causing a ruckus?"

"There's pizza, beer, and stupid children's entertainment," Kanan said, raising his bottle toward... that guy. Hey, that guy! "I'd say there's never a bad time for a ruckus."

Just go on and invite the guy into Peter's apartment, Kanan.

"And I've got more beer, so fuck if it isn't a party now." John, no.

He wandered in, setting his beer on the nearest flat surface. "Here's to us saps that aren't stuck chaperoning a school trip. May we get high, get drunk, and feast our minds on quality entertainment."

"I will definitely drink to that," Kanan laughed. Because... so help him, after the week he had, he needed to be very drunk. He wouldn't have minded missing that week in favor of the trip, except that coming back home to the fallout would've been...

Eugh.

"Maybe next time, I'll play chaperone. What those kids need in their lives is clearly a good influence like guys like us."

There was probably a reason the school board hadn't begged Kanan go go anyway.

Hera snorted. "Oh, I'm sure that's just what they need. Hi," she told the new guy, "I'm Hera."

"Constantine, John Constantine," he said, giving the lovely lady a bow. "So you're our newest resident, then. Welcome aboard the madhouse."

"Not too much of a ruckus," Peter protested. "Sorry; were we loud? Come in."

"Fuck, mate, if you're not being loud, you're old," John scoffed. "--And I, for one, am not old."

This is why you're a human disaster, John.

"I...am old," Peter confessed. "But I can still be loud if I have to."

"Old is a state of mind," John said, waving a hand negligently. "You've got kid shows on the telly, you're fine."

It was a Saturday night. There were movies. There was an Allie knocking on the door.

Another person? Peter blinked, shrugged, and answered the door.

"Allie!" He smiled at her. "Hi there. Come on in. I hope we weren't too loud or anything."

Allie shrugged, "Not loud. But I was wondering what was up. It sounds like a gathering."

She was bored.

"Well, it wasn't really supposed to be, but..." Peter laughed and waved her in. "They've got pizza, but I've got other stuff in the fridge, if you want."

He wasn't sure how open she was with new people, but he could definitely feed her, too.

"Welcome to life on the island. Spur of the moment seems to be a tradition. I've been at some fun parties as a result." Just wait till the sex pollen hits Peter.

She frowned at the mention of pizza. "I'd love some. It smells incredible. But I'm not one of the lucky get to eat real food vampires."

See Kanan. See Kanan glancing up from his pizza and beer, having given up on figuring out what the hell was going on in this movie they were watching about a fish looking for her family, and giving the lady in the doorway a grin and a sort of salute in greeting with his bottle.

"Hey! Come in, make yourself comfortable!"

Seriously, Kanan. Not your house.

Peter shook his head. "Allie, this is Kanan. Kanan, Allie." He turned to Allie. "Ignore him, he just likes to flirt."

"I just choose to stick to my strengths," Kanan drawled, then took another mouthful of beer. "Good to meet you, Allie."

"It's a useful skill to have," Allie grinned. "And good to meet you to. I need to work on getting out more."
