MCA, Apartment -2
There had been a bat in the apartment since Wednesday. At the moment, it was hanging from the doorframe to Peter's room.
And then Peter was upside-down in the doorway, tumbling to the ground before he could adjust to it, and yelling briefly, startled.
He sat there for a moment blinking, readjusting his brain to more sentient standards.
Well, that had happened.

Being on her own hadn't been a good thing. The restlessness had grown worse, and the emotions that kef normally dampened sometimes felt overwhelming.
Taking a walk in the park hadn't improved things.
Sitting on the couch when she heard the yell, she looked up.
"Peter?"
no subject
[Sorry for late!]

"I thought you had gone... somewhere," she said, trying not to sound as if she hadn't been wondering why Peter hadn't told her.
no subject

"No?"
Actually, she couldn't come up with any reason that Peter should suddenly out of nowhere appear naked in his room.

"So, the island turned you into a bat?" She repeated, trying out putting that into words herself.

If Peter did, she preferred to know.

Seivarden had no idea how she managed to sound as if this was something reasonably normal.
Then something struck her.
"Wait. Can this happen to anyone?"
no subject
no subject
That was less worrying that the possibility of her turning into something.
"So, that... could happen to me? I mean, possibly?"

Seivarden shook her head. "I really wish I could leave."
She added: "Not that I don't appreciate staying here, and you've been very kind to me, but this place... It's..."
She didn't really know how to finish that sentence.

He felt obliged to stick up for Fandom after the last place he'd gotten stuck.
no subject
Seivarden would still prefer being stuck on some uncivilized planet where she could find kef and forget about everything.

And if he weren't a total white knight that needed to fight all his world's ills.
no subject
She was upset, not just about this, but about her whole situation. She crossed her arms to stop fidgeting.
no subject
Sorry, Seivarden; everybody had a reason. Maybe a shitty one, but a reason.
no subject
Rather than going off on a rant about this, though, she added: "But perhaps I should let you get dressed."
Peter never wore gloves, and seeing him naked wasn't much of a difference, but Seivarden realized she should give him the opportunity to put some clothes on. She was making an effort around him.
no subject
He turned and went into his room to get dressed, but called back, "Was it the gloves thing again?"
Hey, Peter liked Seivarden well enough, but she could get a bit stuffy about some things.
no subject
"We talked about where we are from, and she assumed the Radch is the same as some empire from her world," Seivarden called back. "And then she got quite angry and set her friend who was an animal chasing me."
Seivarden also hadn't bothered with the pronoun.

Although it hadn't necessarily been easy to interpret it that way.
no subject
And yes, he meant both Seivarden and whoever she'd pissed off.

There hadn't been a lot of blood he could get to. He was heading to the fridge now.
no subject
Peter probably knew that, and it wasn't like Seivarden was going to drink it.
no subject
"Did you have any problems other than that?" he asked. "Any issues with the apartment or flower shop?"
no subject
She made a gesture with her hand.
no subject
Though how someone managed to break more than one cup in a week... "Should I stick with plastic?"
no subject
"Movie night?"
no subject
No children's movies ever again. Ever.
"It's usually pretty fun."
no subject
Seivarden now couldn't help wondering what they were like.
"That sounds enjoyable. What do you mean by traumatic though?"
no subject
no subject
"Do you share the same kind of... bad memories then? Of course, I don't know what kind of stories are popular here."
no subject
"All kinds of stories are popular, but we try and stay away from anything involving war or fighting."
no subject
"Lighthearted things, then?"

"Can I have a look?" Seivarden asked, holding out a hand for the remote.
